The Middle Ages come back to life within the walls of Conversano

The County Nights 2025

History, spectacle and magic

In summer, Conversano comes alive with one of the most eagerly awaited and evocative events in the area: Le Notti della Contea.
Every year, the historic centre is transformed into a veritable journey through time, where history, theatre and medieval traditions come to life within the ancient walls of the village.

A plunge into the Middle Ages with re-enactments, shows, and traditions

‘Le Notti della Contea’ is an event that involves the whole town: theatre companies, cultural associations, historical re-enactment groups and local craftspeople all work together to offer an immersive and engaging experience.
Throughout the streets of the old town, there is a succession of historical re-enactments, costumed performances, medieval games for adults and children, educational workshops, falconry displays, noble processions and knightly duels.

Visitors have the opportunity to discover the history of the County of Conversano through narrative tours, live theatrical performances and settings faithful to the medieval period, which showcase the town’s historical and artistic heritage.

A unique opportunity to experience Conversano

The magic of the Notti della Contea comes to life in Piazza Castello, where flag-wavers and costumed performers bring the medieval atmosphere to life under a starry sky.

As well as the beauty of the events, Le Notti della Contea also offers an opportunity to experience the village in a different light: restaurants and shops stay open late, the atmosphere is made magical by soft lighting and live music, and the Acquaviva d’Aragona Castle provides the backdrop for unforgettable evenings.
It is an event suitable for everyone: families, history buffs, curious tourists or anyone simply looking for an out-of-the-ordinary experience on Apulian summer evenings.

🅿️ Where to park:
During the evenings of the event, the historic centre is partially closed to traffic. We recommend leaving your car in one of the free or paid public car parks located a short distance away.
Here are the main ones:

  • Car park near Piazza Aldo Moro: Spacious, close to the town centre, just a short walk away
  • Via Giuseppe Bolognini: A street with parking spaces available
  • Conversano Station Car Park
  •  Car parks at Liceo Morea, Via Gallo: Near the town centre
  • Via San Giacomo car park: Further from the centre

When to arrive to avoid the crowds:
The busiest times are between 8.30 pm and 10.00 pm. If you want to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere, we recommend arriving around 7.00 pm, so you can take your time exploring the village, have dinner in one of the traditional trattorias or watch the early shows without the crowds.
