A circular route connecting the main temporary lakes of the reserve, passing through panoramic viewpoints and areas rich in flora and fauna.
🚶♀️ Lunghezza: circa 7 km
⏱️ Durata: 2–2,5 ore

Points of interest:
Fauna along the route:
Seasonal karst lakes such as Lago Castiglione, Lago Sassano, and Lago San Vito, environments rich in biodiversity, with opportunities to observe amphibians, migratory birds, and wild plants such as wild orchids.

Along the route, it is possible to spot small animals that inhabit the edges of the lakes, such as dragonflies, frogs, and small reptiles.

Thanks to the morphology of the territory, the trail also offers particularly photogenic views, ideal for wildlife photographers and for those who enjoy sharing their experience with a careful eye on the landscape.

A linear route that winds along the most scenic ravine of the area, between limestone cliffs, remains of ancient rock settlements, and spectacular viewpoints.

⏱️ Durata: 1,5 ore
🟡 Difficoltà: media
⚠️ Suggerita guida naturalistica per un’esperienza più completa e sicura

Ideal for:
Trekking, birdwatching, wildlife photography, and observation of local fauna, including herons, white storks, and kestrels.

The walk is also a journey through time, thanks to the presence of ancient rock settlements, caves, and paths carved into the rock that tell forgotten stories of shepherds, travelers, and rural communities.

The cliffs of the ravine form an extraordinary ecosystem for bird nesting and offer visually striking views, especially during the golden hours of sunset.
Natura & fauna da scoprire
The reserve is a true paradise for nature observation enthusiasts.
- Birdwatching: herons, black-winged stilts, kestrels, storks (especially in spring and autumn), hoopoes, little owls, and barn owls
- Characteristic flora: mastic tree, strawberry tree, holm oak, Phillyrea, heather, and in spring a riot of wild orchids
- Mammals: foxes, porcupines, hedgehogs, badgers, and small rodents. In some areas, traces of nocturnal animals such as owls and little owls can also be found.
The best seasons for observations are spring and early autumn, when biodiversity bursts forth in all its color and sound.
