MUSeCO – Museums in Conversano

MUSeCO – Museums in Conversano is the City's Museum Complex
a route dedicated to discovering the art, history and traditions of Conversano.
Born in the eighties as a Civic Museum and expanded over time, today it spans across two symbolic locations of the city: Acquaviva d’Aragona Castle e The Monastery of Saint Benedict.
The Museum Complex includes several sections:

- 🖌 Pinacoteca Francesco Netti
- 🏛️ Temporary exhibition hall;
- 🌾 Museum of the Territory, with the sections City History, Brass Bands and Fashion and Costume;
- 🏛️ Archaeological Museum
- 🏛️ Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (under construction).

The master of illusions arrives in Conversano
For the first time in Puglia, Maurits Cornelis Escher, the Dutch artist famous for his fascinating optical illusions, is coming to Conversano.
The exhibition is being held at the Castello Conti Acquaviva d’Aragona and brings together some of the artist’s most iconic works, showcasing his ability to transform mathematics into art and to play with the rules of perception.

Housed within the historic San Giuseppe Conservatoire, the Civic Library is a cultural hub for the city. Founded in 1958, it is now a vibrant and dynamic centre where exhibitions, book launches, workshops and meetings are held.
