Pugliese light, design, and creativity in the heart of Conversano

Lumen Light Fest 2025

A vision that ignites the city. A journey through art, light, and identity.

From 15 July to 31 August 2025, Conversano is transformed into a nocturnal narrative woven from light, matter and visual poetry. With the Lumen Light Fest, the historic centre becomes a city-wide installation, an open-air exhibition that invites visitors to explore its lesser-visited — yet incredibly evocative — corners through the contemporary lens of Apulian design and craftsmanship.

Official visual for Lumen Light Fest 2025, sponsored by Conversano Town Council. A festival of light installations that transforms the historic centre into an artistic journey through light and design.

A festival of light, art and urban furnishings

Lumen was created to showcase the most hidden and quiet corners of the old town, integrating artistic installations into the urban environment and transforming them into genuine elements of contemporary design.
It is a project that weaves together creativity, regeneration and local identity, restoring these places to their rightful prominence and encouraging new ways of engaging with culture.

As you stroll through Piazza Castello, Villa Garibaldi and other parts of the town centre, you’ll come across suspended, interactive, organic light installations that capture the eye and spark the imagination. Each installation is designed to interact with the village’s exposed stonework and with those passing through, offering new visual and sensory perspectives.

The “Puglieseness” of light designers

Lumen celebrates the craftsmanship of Apulian artisans and designers, who are the stars of the festival. These artists are able to combine natural materials – such as wood, plant fibres and fabrics – with the evocative power of light, creating works that are truly one of a kind.

They exhibit

  • Frank Larry
  • Pino Incredix

Enzo Rosato is the artistic director, and he has curated an exhibition programme that is coherent, evocative and deeply rooted in the local area.
